Kuroko collects nothing.

Last updated 5 October 2026

The short version: we don't collect, store or share any information about you.

  • The Kuroko Mac app can't connect to the internet at all.
  • Your scripts, settings and screenshots stay on your Mac.
  • No account, no analytics, no ads and no tracking, in the app or on this website.

The Mac app

It can't connect to the internet

Kuroko runs inside Apple's App Sandbox, which only lets an app do what it has declared up front. Kuroko doesn't ask for network access, so macOS won't let it send or receive anything online. Nothing you do in Kuroko ever leaves your Mac through the app.

What stays on your Mac

Your drawings on screen aren't saved at all. They disappear when you clear them.

Camera access, and why it's only for your iPhone

When you plug in your iPhone to mirror it, macOS asks whether Kuroko may use the camera. That's because macOS treats a plugged-in iPhone as a camera. Kuroko uses this only to show your iPhone's screen live. Your Mac's own camera is never turned on, and the iPhone picture is never recorded or sent anywhere.

Removing your data

Everything Kuroko keeps is on your Mac, so you're in control of it. You can move any script to the Trash from the teleprompter's script menu. To remove everything, delete the Kuroko app and then the folder ~/Library/Containers/com.joshuaooi.kuroko.

Buying and updates through Apple

You buy and update Kuroko through the Mac App Store. Apple handles your payment and never gives us your name, email or card details. If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Mac's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage figures. Apple's own privacy policy covers this.

This website

If you email us

If you write to support, we use your email address and message only to reply to you. We never share them, and we never add you to a mailing list.

Children

Kuroko is a work tool for professionals and isn't aimed at children.

Changes to this policy

If Kuroko ever starts collecting any information, for example to catch crashes, we'll update this page and the privacy details on the App Store before that version is released. The date at the top always shows the latest change.
